the community house at gainsborough parkThe park boasts its own community centre. Built and run by residents, in 1992 the centre won  a commendation in the National Community Enterprise scheme, of which Prince Charles is the patron.

“Nice position, lots of nature, nice big garden, pet friendly. Ferns, bluebell, foxglove, sheepsbit, scabious, valerian, yellow archangel, primroses, thrift, stonecrop, red campion, bees, grasshopper, adder and mice in the wall. Could anything be done better? No!”

can't improve on the best...

“Pleasant people, peaceful. Lots of different birds, sparrows, greenfinch, blue tit, great tit, robin and some I don't know. Badgers come every night to be fed. Can't improve on the best.”
